About The Author

Meet Daniel Howell

Daniel McKinely Howell – is a multifaceted creative, author, and curator who is using visual storytelling in conjunction with the written word to create a bridge between parents and their children in a routine oriented way that is educational, fun and emotionally engaging.

During the pandemic, Daniel spent countless days and nights “Daddying” 3 boys below the age of 5. The sheer chaos that would ensue when it was time for bed drove Daniel to his wits end. He then learned about the 4 Bs (Bath, Brush, Book, Bed) from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Daniel found that by laying out routines, and eventually sing-alongs, rhymes, and visual aids the boys began to respond positively and this had such a profound impact on Daniel that he incorporated this framework into a family fun read-along children’s book that is poised to change bedtime culture for families around the globe.

The Four Bee’s – Bee 4 Goodnight follows four bees as they practice the 4 B’s before goodnight, and follow the “The Stations of Goodnight” bedtime system. Essentially making each B (Bath, Brush, Book, Bed) a station that the readers can stop at, and thus making the book an interactive read along. The ultimate goal is to provide a structured but accessible system to the caregivers and their children. The book garnered support on Kickstarter amassing over $13 000 to enable the book to come to life. Daniel is also a firm believer in diversity and representation and he ensured that the book comes in variations that suit the makeup of different families in order to ensure the best visual learning experience.
